Spring Work Party-May 1, 2010





















We had a very successful day cleaning up the beach and getting it ready for the spring summer season! Together, neighbors raked leaves, cleaned the beach front, cleaned out the gazebo and bathroom, pruned trees, trimmed the grass, did a dump run and happily gave away all the stumps and old wood to a Craigslist.com reader.

Silver Shores Homeowners Association Annual Meeting
March 1, 2010

Board Meeting minutes have gone paperless! Please make sure we have your e-mail!

Present: Alice and Ken Cords, Nancy Mendelsohn, Susan and John Kane-Ronning, Jim Merfeld, Michael Berres

Treasurers Report:

Director and Officer insurance coverage was voted and approved to be purchased for no more than $150.00 for one year. The board is also looking into the cost of insuring the new dock.

2010 dues increase of 3%, dues total for 2010: $73.95. Invoice is attached. Please remit at your earliest convenience to Alice Cords at 3000 Silvern Lane.
Neighbors are encouraged to pay an additional amount of $26.05 for 2010 to offset increasing costs for beach maintainance and care.

Beach Manager Report:
Beach Lawn Mowing: The board voted to continue the current work relationship with Kai Kane-Ronning for the 2010 season. The amount per mow was increased to $50 per mowing.

Annual Spring Cleanup day:
May 1st, 2010, 9 AM, with neighborhood potluck to follow.
Personal belongings, such as toys, barbeques and other miscellaneous items (besides boats) remaining on the beach will be disposed of during the clean-up. Please be sure to fetch your items before May 1st!

Dock Replacement Update:
The dock permit has been approved!
The current opening to replace the dock cannot be utilized due to Kokanee hatchlings in Lake Whatcom.
The first pile will be driven on June 15, 2010, and will be a two-day process. The dock will be delivered at the end of this week, March 5, 2010.
Due to permit requirements, No Driving Allowed on the Beach until June 1, 2010.

Dock Manager Report:
Homeowners who wants a moorage slip must present certificate of insurance to the dock manager(s) for slip approval. Moorage will not be granted without proof of insurance. Dock managers for the 2010 season are Ken Cords and John Martinez.
